News from Mission Trips

Some people choose to spend time on mission trips to Uganda, Costa Rica, or other places where SOK Christian Churchs are being built. These are some of their stories and emails back home.

Hi Everyone,

Over 1840 souls saved! At one catholic church the whole church came forward after Kyle preached. They had never heard the gospel!

Today 28 were saved after I preached at an anglican church in Idudi. Just to be sure I asked the pastor if he was saved and he said yes! ( Some are not)

We are in Iganga in the east side of the country. I am overwhelmed everytime the people come when I preach. It really humbles me to see God work in this way - you have no idea what it is like to watch 20 -30 - 150 - (500 on one occasion) come to Christ day after day.

To look in their eyes and watch it change from hopelessness to joy! God is great!

There is so much to be done - please pray

Love to all - Phil    Psalm 150

Hello everyone,

We are in route to Iganga Town and have stopped along the way for lunch/supper. We left Masaka this morning about 9:30 and it is now 3:30. We have been late getting back in the evenings so I haven't been able to email. Also in Iganga sometimes the electricity is off so I don't know how regularly I'll be able to email you.

God has done so many awesome things. Over 1400 souls have come into the kingdom. Many have been healed. Children are being fed and Bibles given to pastors and teachers so they can disciple those who accepted Christ.

On Sunday we had worshiped in a church under construction. As we praised God the bricklayer was still laying bricks near the tin roof which was only half finished. We st6od on a floor of rocks. We didn't get to finish praying with the ladies, so on Monday, when we finished at our school we went back to the church and played with the kids and prayed with the ladies. As we prayed they were putting the concrete over the brick structure and hammering on the last piece of tin. Yesterday evening we returned to the same church to inaugurate it and celebrate the completion. It was complete with concrete floor and painted on the outside.

When I got out of the van the Lord told me to go read who had built the church. What an awesome surprise!! It read Jaka Christian Church by Jubilee Outreach, San Antonio!! Kemper has honored Jubilee Church!! Mayune and I didn't know about it!! What a blessing and sweet surprise to end our week of ministry in the Masaka area.

I love all of you and please continue to pray for us as the area we go into this week is more difficult physically and spiritually. God has answered our prayers and He continues to energize and encourage us. The people are so loving and appreciative. The laughter and songs of the children fill our hearts with joy.

Love in Christ, Sandy

A Summary of 2006 Uganda Trip

Dear Bro. and Sisters,

I just wanted to give a brief report to let you know how great our God is. Thank you all for your prayer support and to the 17 people who went thanks for your willingness to be used by God. God certainly moved in miraculous ways to expand His Kingdom in Uganda East Africa.

I truly believe that God is building a lighthouse in the heart of Africa. Many have lost their life to plant the seed of the word of God in Africa and we have been blessed beyond measure to be a part of the harvest and to share His love with others. I pray that as you read the praise report that you equate the numbers with lives that have been eternally changed due to the encounter they had with Jesus Christ.

1. After sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ we counted 3,506 people that made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ.

2. 17 schools were visited and fed rice. The team members were able to share the love and joy of Christ as they played with using songs, drama, puppets, games, balls and colorful parachutes. Many of the children and teachers relieved Christ and bibles to read.

3. 765 Bibles were given to teachers, pastors, pastor's wives, children, and others who received Christ. Even taxi drivers who accepted Christ.

4. 24 churches were visited and the Gospel preached. One of the praise reports from the churches was In an Anglican Church all the members including their pastor come forward to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.

5. 2,636 pounds of rice, beans, corn was purchased leaving behind enough food to feed the New Grace Primary School and Orphanage for 2-3 months.

6. At the New Grace Seminary 180 pastors and their wives received not only teaching, but new t-shirts, bibles, prayer, and evangelism materials.

7. At the New Grace Seminary, clinic, orphanage, and primary School several praises are taking place.

Fabric was purchased to provide new uniforms for all 700 children.

Paper, pencils, notebooks, pens, chalk, ect.. were given to the students.

Additional land was purchased to build new toilets.

The clinic and the Doctor is registered with the federal Government as Medical Facility with full rights to practice and treat patients.

8. Many sick people were prayed for and we trust God that healing took place.

Thanks again for your prayer and support. GOD IS AWESOME!!!!!!

Your brother in Christ, Kyle Coston     Col. 1:9-12
